６．網走橋

 

網走橋は、1890年に簡易的にかけられた木橋から始まり、1916年に本格的な橋として木橋がかけられた。

現在の網走橋は、1939年につくられ90年以上の歴史がある橋で、まちの発展に伴い橋の機能と景観を保った拡幅がなされてきた。

北海道内現存最古のゲルバー桁橋で、2017年土木学会推奨土木遺産となっている。

 

The Abashiri Bridge

The Abashiri Bridge began as a simple wooden bridge in 1890. A more sturdy, permanent

wooden bridge was built in 1916. The present Abashiri Bridge was built in 1939 and has a

long history. It has been widened and adapted along with the development of the city. It is the

oldest existing Gerber girder bridge in Hokkaido and has become a civil engineering heritage

recommended by the Japan Society of Civil Engineers in 2017.
